Martyr
To be a martyr means to suffer or die for one's religious beliefs, principles, or a greater cause, willingly choosing sacrifice over renouncing their convictions, often becoming a symbol of inspiration for others, though the term can also colloquially describe someone who exaggerates suffering for sympathy. Originally from the Greek for "witness," the concept evolved from early Christians giving testimony under persecution to dying for their faith, a heroic act venerated across many traditions, including Islam (dying in defense of faith) and Hinduism (dying in battle).
Meloncholy
A "melancholy woman" describes an individual embodying a profound, pensive, and often quiet state of sadness, gloominess, or introspection. Associated with the classic melancholic temperament, she is typically characterized as sensitive, analytical, and reserved, frequently preferring solitude and focusing on deep, often nostalgic, thoughts.
